The Moor Knutsford image

The Moor

Located behind the King Street shops is the beautiful open space of The Moor.

Here you'll find a children's play area, picnic benches, plus a large expanse of grass.

A footpath encircles the whole area, so you can wander along the River Lily (more of a stream) or past the tip of Tatton Mere, which provides the opportunity to feed the variety of resident birds, including ducks and swans.

There's nearby parking on King Street Car Park, with toilets adjacent to a dog friendly coffee shop called Tatton Perk. Where they serve a delicious selection of drinks and snacks available to take away if you wish.

Knutsford Heritage Centre image

Knutsford Heritage Centre

Situated in a quaint 17th century timber frame building of an old forge, Knutsford Heritage Centre is a real hidden gem.

It's most famous inhabitant is the impressive Knutsford Millennium Tapestry which spans 3 walls of the Tapestry Gallery, and took 3000 local residents 4 years to complete.

A number of other exhibits are displayed at the Heritage Centre throughout the year, including those linked to Knutsford's famous Royal May Day. Plus 2 picturesque courtyard gardens are dotted with yet more historic artefacts, and both provide a peaceful spot to sit for a while.

Open Thurs-Sat 11am-4pm, discover this fascinating place nestled between Princess Street (via Heritage Way) and King Street (through the narrow archway next to Age UK).
