Direct trains to Knutsford run from Chester Station and Manchester Piccadilly Station on a daily basis.
Trains run approximately every hour and the journey takes around 45 minutes from both stations.

Travelling to Knutsford by bus
Knutsford's main bus station is situated adjacent to Booths supermarket, which is a very short walk to the town centre shops, bars, and restaurants.
There are 2 bus routes for Knutsford:
Route 88 - Altrincham to Macclesfield which also includes stops at Hale, Wilmslow, Mobberley, and Chelford.
Route 89 - Knutsford to Northwich, with stops at Pickmere, Wincham, and Lostock Gralam.

Travelling to Knutsford by car
Knutsford town centre is just a 5-10 minute drive from Junction 19 of the M6 motorway, with connecting routes from the M53 and M56 making it extremely easy to access by car.
Parking in Knutsford

Free Parking:
- On street parking in Knutsford town centre is limited to 1 hour in most areas.
- There are also some 2 hour bays near the entrance to Tatton Park and down by Knutsford Moor.
- If you'd prefer to park in one of the car parks, Booths Supermarket offers 2 hours free parking, whereas Aldi supermarket allows 1.5 hours. Both car parks are monitored by an ANPR system, and each one has EV charging points.
- The car park adjacent to Curzon Cinema permits 2 hours free parking. Cinema customers are entitled to longer by simply adding your vehicle registration to the console inside the cinema upon arrival.
Paid Parking:
For longer stays, Knutsford has 5 Park & Pay car parks which are operated by Cheshire East Council.
Charges apply Monday-Saturday 8am-6pm, including Bank Holidays. Sunday parking is free.
Payment can be made by cash, card, and via the RingGo app.

Getting around the town
Knutsford town centre has 2 main streets (King Street and Princess Street) which run parallel to each other. With Tatton Street leading from the Knutsford entrance of Tatton Park to Canute Place, and lots of smaller side streets connecting it all together.
Exploring Knutsford on foot is ideal so you can wander down the many hidden nooks and crannies. Some lead to the beautiful green space of Knutsford Moor, others to the town's hidden gems such as Knutsford Heritage Centre.
If you have mobility issues and/or children in a pushchair, it's worth noting that Knutsford has some very narrow pavements, making them difficult to navigate, especially when it's busy with pedestrians.
Take A Seat Scheme
Part of Knutsford's charm is its narrow pavements, cobbled streets, and steep gradients in some areas. However, these features can sometimes cause a challenge to residents and visitors to the town. To help make Knutsford more inclusive and accessible, many of the local businesses are part of the town's 'Take A Seat' scheme.
This initiative is designed to offer a seat and a welcoming environment to anyone who needs to stop and recharge while they're out and about in Knutsford.
There's no obligation to make a purchase, simply turn up at any of the participating businesses displaying a sticker in their window, and let the staff know you need to rest.
