Knutsford Highlights - January 2025
Welcome to the very first Knutsford Highlights - a roundup of news and happenings from around the town throughout January 2025.
These monthly catch-ups will be bringing together social media posts you may have missed, dates for upcoming events, and some of the Knutsford newness heading our way.
I'll be posting a new edition every month, so be sure to check back regularly. Also keep an eye on social media to find out when the next one goes live!
Winter weather
Snow, ice, wind, rain, and sunshine - we had it all during January. And love it or loathe it, you can't deny that Knutsford looks stunning dressed in white.

Adding a splash of colour
Tatton Perk added their own splash of January colour to Knutsford with the introduction of some exciting new drinks.
Liz Boardman and I popped in to their moor park coffee shop, where the talented Mia created us an activated charcoal latte, plus a gorgeous blue butterfly pea version.
We were both intrigued and pleasantly suprised by the look and taste of these healthy alternatives for latte lovers. The coconut blossom base adds a sweetness, perfectly balanced by a delicious hint of ginger.
And it wasn't just the drinks we fell in love with. How gorgeous are those glass mugs!

Chit Chatting at Sigiriya
There was also a warm welcome at Sigiriya Knutsford when they invited me in to try some dishes from their Chit Chat menu.
I love this concept. Simply turn up at the restaurant between 3pm-6pm, order a drink from the bar, and choose 2 complimentary dishes from the Chit Chat menu to enjoy alongside your beverage.
There are some really tasty choices, including meat and vegetarian options, and everything is freshly made on the premises by the talented chefs.
Whether you fancy winding down with a glass of Sri Lankan beer and a bite to eat, or kick-starting the evening with a signature cocktail and a couple of small plates, Sigiriya has you covered.
Don't forget, Sigiriya are open for lunch, dinner, and takeaways too. All their menus are available on the website: www.sigiriya.live/knutsford

Mid-week movie night
Grab the pocorn, it's time for movie night at Curzon.
Did you know tickets are cheaper on a Wednesday? Just the excuse we needed for a mid-week evening out at Knutsford's cinema.
And judging by the responses on the social media post which followed, many of you are fellow fans of our local film theatre. It seems quite a few also enjoy the free tickets and discounted food benefits of a Curzon membership. Something definitely worth checking out: www.curzon.com/membership

Knutsford Millennium Bursary
Knutsford Millennium Bursary Applications opened once again in January.
This annual partnership between Knutsford Lions and Knutsford Town Council aims to offer a financial boost to second-year university students residing in Knutsford or Toft.
Previous recipients have used the funds for research materials, specialist software, or to purchase essential equipment for their projects.
Applications close on 14th February, and all details can be found on the Knutsford Town Council website: www.knutsfordtowncouncil.gov.uk/services/millennium-bursary
